Overview

Dr Amin Paykani is a Senior Lecturer in Automotive Engineering specialising in Automotive Propulsion Systems at the Department of Engineering, University of Hertfordshire. He received his PhD in Automotive Engineering from Iran University of Science and Technology.  Prior to joining the University of Hertfordshire, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH) responsible for studying "optimal fuel blends in natural gas-fuelled SI engines". He has published more than 30 papers in international refereed journals and has been invited as a guest-editor and peer-reviewer for more than 10 Journals.

He is currently the PI of an EPSRC project (EP/T033800/1) under the new investigator award scheme to work on high-efficiency low emission thermal propulsion systems. He has been recognised as a "Global Talent" by the Royal Academy of Engineering in the field of Transport and Mechanical. He is always looking for high-quality PhD students and postgraduate visitors.
