Research and Scholarly Communications Manager
Bill is Research and Scholarly Communications (RSC) Manager, Library and Computing Services, University of Hertfordshire. The RSC team provides research systems and information curation, good practice, and practical interventions for researchers in order to get the most from their published work. Bill leads the RSC team and works with other providers in the university to deliver a more holistic and easy to access service catalogue for research.
Bill was formerly Group Leader in the Enterprise Application Consultants team, wherein he managed the systems and people that deliver the University's key business applications including Research systems, HR & Payroll, Finance, Document Management, Timetabling, Student Record System, Accommodation and Customer Relationship Management.
Bill led the University's Research Data Management activity and was project manager for two JISC funded projects on the JISCMRD Managing Research Data programme. This work catalysed change in people, policy, process and systems, and touched all stages of the research project lifecycle. Prior to this Bill provided and managed information technology services for a variety of university clients, predominantly in the not-for-profit and government funded sectors; and was technology lead for i10, a multi-university knowledge exchange project in the East of England.
