Corinna joined the University of Hertfordshire in 2021 as a Senior Lecturer in Structural Design and Future Infrastructure.

Corinna is a chartered (TEE-TCG) civil engineer with specialisation in structural engineering. Her engineering background is backed by a combination of academic and industrial experience. After graduating with an MSc in Civil Engineering from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece, she successfully pursued her PhD degree at the Glass and Façade Technology Research Group at the University of Cambridge. During her time at the University of Cambridge, she also provided forensic consultancy services for a series of challenging, structural glass applications.

Her research interests later led her to join the Centre Additive Manufacturing (CfAM) as a Research Fellow at the University of Nottingham, where she focused on developing an additive manufacturing method for glass.

Prior to joining the University of Hertfordshire, Corinna also gained valuable industrial experience working at Eckersley O’Callaghan, an award-winning engineering practice, focusing on the design of high-end structural glass and façade engineering projects in the architectural and marine industries.

Corinna’s research interests lie in structural glass and façade engineering, additive manufacturing methods for building materials and sustainability in the construction industry. Her research to date has been published in multipe, high-impact, peer-reviewed journals and has been funded by EPSRC, Innovate UK, the EU Research Fund for Coal and Steel, the Onassis Foundation and industrial partners.
