Overview

Dr Lindsay Bottoms joined Hertfordshire University in May 2015 as a Senior Lecturer in Exercise Physiology and became a Reader in Exercise and Health Physiology towards the end of 2019.  She is currently the Head of Centre for Research in Psychology and Sports Science.  

From 2010 -2015 Lindsay was a Senior Lecturer in Exercise Physiology and the University of East London. Prior to that, from 2007 – 2010 Lindsay was a Lecturer at the University of Central Lancashire, teaching on the Sport Science degree programmes. 


Her Ph.D was on thermoregulation during upper body exercise, and was undertaken at Coventry University.

Lindsay retired from competing internationally at Epee Fencing in 2018, having competed for England at the Fencing Commonwealth Championships in 2010 and won a bronze medal at the 2014 championships.  She volunteers at British Fencing and is a team manager for the junior Women's Epee team.
