Dr Loic Coudron

Overview

Dr Loïc Coudron was awarded the title of Ingénieur Diplômé by the University François-Rabelais of Tours, France, in 2007. During his doctoral studies (Completed in 2011) in the University of Tours’ Laboratoire de Microélectronique de Puissance (now GREMAN), Loïc has developed expertise in porous silicon, electrochemistry of silicon, semiconductor manufacturing and nanofabrication.

In 2011, Loïc joined the Microfluidics and Microengineering Research Group (MMRG) at the University of Hertfordshire (UH) where he specialised in Electrowetting and Digital Microfluidics (DMF) for Aerosol Detection System.

Since 2012, Dr Coudron has led the development of electrowetting-based DMF at UH based on a series of successful dstl projects (dstl, Porton Down is an executive agency sponsored by UK MoD that ensures that innovative science and technology contribute to the defence and security of the UK). Dr Coudron and his MMRG co-workers have established a track record of delivering turnkey DMF-based systems not only performing leading-edge DMF, but also addressing end-user, in-field military aerosol biodetection challenges.
