Overview

Marija Cubric is a Reader in e-learning and Principal Lecturer in Information Systems and Project Management at the University of Hertfordshire Business School.  She received a BCs/MSc in Mathematics with Informatics from the University of Belgrade and a PhD in Computer Science from Concordia University (Montreal) in 1994. Prior to joining the University in 2004, she worked on expert systems for architectural designs in Serbia and in telecommunications R&D in Canada and the UK.  In 2007 she was awarded a four-year secondment to the University's Blended Learning Unit, a UKRI (HEFCE) Centre for Excellence, to promote innovative e-learning practices across the University and nationally. Since then, she has presented her work in many international conferences and peer-reviewed journals, and has completed externally-funded projects for JISC (EVS, iTEAM), the UK HEA  and the EU (COST) in the area of e-learning, agile management education  and information systems respectively. She is currently working on  applications and implications of AI/ML and data-driven innovation in business, healthcare and e-learning systems. Marija is a Fellow and a Chartered IT professional of the British Computing Society (FBCS CITP), and a Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy (FHEA). She also serves as a journal Editor for EJEL (Scopus, ABS, ESCI), a consultant for EU Innovation Council and the UK Tech Partnership Degrees and a programme committee member for the European Conference on the Impact of AI and Robotics.
