Dr Raimund Kirner

I am a Reader in Cyberphysical Systems at the University of Hertfordshire. I have published more than 100 refereed journal and conference papers and received two patents. I received my PhD in 2003 from the TU Vienna and my Habilitation in 2010.

I am heading the Algorithms Research Group at the University of Hertfordshire. I am also Director of the Cyber Security Center (CSC) at the University of Hertfordshire.

My research focus is on embedded computing, cyber-security, parallel computing, and system reliability; currently working on adequate hardware and software architectures to bridge the gap between the many-core computing and embedded computing. I also published excessively on worst-case execution time analysis and served as PC chair of WDES'06, WCET'08, SEUS'13, ISORC'21.

I am the local principal investigator of the Artemis-JU project CRAFTERS and local co-investigator of the FP7 project ADVANCE. Further, I have been the principal investigator of three research projects
funded by the Austrian Science Foundation (COSTA, FORTAS, SECCO). I am a member of the IFIP Working Group 10.4 (Embedded Systems).
