Miss Rebecca Sawiuk

Overview

Miss Rebecca Sawiuk joined the University of Hertfordshire in 2013, as a Lecturer in Sport Studies. During her time at the University she has since been promoted to Senior Lecturer. Rebecca is the admissions lead for all of the Studies programmes. Not only is Rebecca a recipient of the Highly Commended University Teaching award she is continuing her own development journey by studying for her PhD. Her PhD within the field of Sport Coaching explores the concepts of formal mentoring, multiple mentoring and developmental networks in high-performance coach education and development.

Rebecca is currently one of very few female coaches within the world of football to hold both the prestigious UEFA A Licence, the FA Advanced Youth Licence and LMA Diploma. Throughout her coaching career she has held a number of roles where she has worked within both the high-performance and youth development contexts. Some of her roles have included working within a boy’s Academy at a Premier League club, Technical Director of a girls Academy (RTC), Women’s Championship Manager and as a Technical Coach for the Football Associations National Pathway.

Miss Sawiuk has supported the professional development of coaches within a number of different roles she has held within the field of Sports Coaching, for example, Technical Director or Coach Educator.
