Miss Rebecca Sawiuk

Overview

Miss Rebecca Sawiuk joined Hertfordshire University in 2013, as a Lecturer in Sport Studies. During her time at the University she has since progressed to a Senior Lecturer in Sport Coaching and teaches on a variety of modules on the BSc Sport Studies and BSc Sport Coaching programmes. Rebecca also holds a number of different roles within the Sport Studies team such as Lead Tutor level 6 and Admissions Tutor for our Sport Studies courses. Not only is Rebecca a recipient of the Highly Commended University Teaching award she is continuing her own development journey by studying for her PhD. Her PhD within the field of Sport Coaching currently explores the concept of formal mentoring and developmental networks in high-performance coach education and development.

Rebecca is currently one of very few female coaches within the world of football to hold both the prestigious UEFA A Licence and the FA Advanced Youth Licence. Throughout her coaching career she has held a number of roles where she has worked within both the high-performance and youth development contents. Some of her roles have included working with a boy’s academy at a Premier League club, Technical Director of a girls Regional Talent club, Women’s Championship Manager and as a Technical Coach for the Football Associations National Pathway.

Miss Sawiuk has supported the professional development of coaches within a number of different roles she has held within the field of Sports Coaching, for example, Technical Director or Coach Educator.
