I am Programme Lead for the BSc (Hons) Dietetics and a Senior Lecturer in Nutrition and Dietetics. I teach across both the BSc Dietetics and BSc Nutrition programmes, leading the Level 5 Research Methods in Nutrition and Level 6 Diet Therapy modules. I am a registered Dietitian with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
I hold a BSc (Hons) in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Surrey and a PhD in Nutritional Science from the University of Reading. My doctoral studies were funded by the EU and focused on the feasibility and efficacy of gene-based personalised nutrition (www.food4me.org).
I initially joined the University as a Lecturer in Nutrition and Dietetics in 2015 and was awarded a university-funded Research Fellowship 2017-2020. Since 2015, I have also worked as a Research Fellow at the University of Reading on a 0.2FTE basis.
My research interests include dietary assessment, app-based personalised nutrition, nutritional genomics, dietary prevention of chronic disease and health inequalities. I currently supervise the following PhD projects:
