This project aims to investigate the relationship between different forms of access to land such as collective rights, communal rights, private ownership and its link to food security in a region in Southern India. It advocates equity of access, possibly disrupting the free market model, but only to the extent that this secures the right to food, which is of fundamental importance in human rights-respecting economies and governance systems.
This three year project will result in a number of outputs and policy engagement with the potential to impact the human rights of over 100,000 people in the specified region.
