The health and wellbeing of children and young people are a national and local public health priority (refs to add, national and local). Some children and their families are particularly vulnerable to poor physical and mental health, for example those living in socio-economically deprived areas. Public engagement and research activities often fail to engage and hear the voices of children and families from more vulnerable and deprived communities about their ‘lived experience’ of health and wellbeing.
Key partners from the East England, Hertfordshire and Stevenage will collaborate and share their expertise on different methods of co-design and community engagement and specifically, how to facilitate sensitive conversations with children and their families in the most deprived neighbourhoods in Stevenage about their health and wellbeing.
