Abstract

The implications of a proposed Covid-19 Vaccine Certification scheme are wide-ranging and present significant obstacles. Alongside the not insignificant concerns relating to potential discrimination from the perspective of vaccinations, there are broader inequality issues in respect of the practicalities of introducing a Covid-19 Vaccine Certificate. Full and careful consideration must be given to a holistic overview before any system is implemented. The Government must ensure that any scheme meets legal standards and norms around equality and non-discrimination, labour rights and privacy and data protection, in particular.
